Awards and Honors:
- One of five ACU Professors considered for the university's
Piper Professor nomination.
- Recipient of 2000 American Society of Composers, Authors
and Publishers (ASCAP) composer award. Recipient of annual ASCAP
awards since1987.
- Recipient of "Outstanding Service" certificate
from the International Alliance for Women in Music during the
International Congress on Women in Music in London, July 1999.
- Awarded First Prize at the Fifth Festival of Women
Composers at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Indiana, PA
in March 1998.
- Named an Outstanding Educator in Abilene Christian
University's College of Arts and Sciences for 1995-96.
- Recipient of 1995 Innovative Use of Technology in Teaching
award from the ACU Center for Teaching Excellence
- Recipient of a Margaret Fairbank Jory copyist assistance
grant from the American Music Center in 1991.
- Named 1990-1991 Faculty of the Year in Abilene Christian
