This hymn setting was written at the invitation of the Vatican's Artistic-Cultural Commission for the Jubilee Year 2000, Archbishop Francesco Marchisano, President. The text is based on scripture and more than forty Biblical names for Jesus (Phil. 2:5-11, I Cor. 2:9, I Tim. 3:16, Hebrews 1:1-4, and Col. 1:13-20.)
